Klavdija Jeršinovec (Ljubljana, 1987) is a visual artist active in the fields of costumography, painting, illustration and art zines. She has been awarded with the Youth Award at the painting competition Ex tempore Piran in 2021. SEA, SUN, HEART (which is also the tile of the awarded painting) is the title of her solo exhibition at the Herman Pečarič Gallery in Piran, where she will present her recent artworks. Compared to illustrations and artistic fanzines, in which, as she says, serious themes are tackled with humor, the language of painting is defined by geometric purity in form and expression. Her minimalistic compositions on two-dimensional surfaces are guided by a rational choice of colors – black, yellow, red, blue – which carry a strong emotional and symbolic potential.
