Project in collaboration with the Opera Viva Trieste Cultural Society.
Students in the studio is an upgrade of the art competition entitled This time is on stage… created in 2005 by Lorena Matic from Trieste. It is aimed at young people and their creativity.
The exhibition and pedagogical project is aimed at high school students in Trieste, Udine, Gorizia and Koper and the Piran Coastal Galleries have been participating for many years at it. It takes place throughout the school year in the form of creative workshops led by mentors and aimed at creating exhibitions and participating in an international competition. An international jury (Paolo Ferluga, Lorena Matic, Ana Papež, Fulvia Zudic and Sabrina Zannier) evaluated and selected the best works to be awarded. The response from the students was once again remarkable. The jury evaluated various art works (collages, photographs, graphics, drawings, paintings, comics, sculptures, videos, installations) able to reflect creativity, awareness and critical sense of young people. Their works will be on display at the Medusa Gallery and at the Praetorian Palace in Koper.
The 15th competition of this year This time on stage… Alice in Wonderland is dedicated to the miracle in its basic meaning and to the one encountered by the protagonist of the story of Lewis Caroll (pseudonym of the mathematician, philosopher and writer Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) – Alice in Wonderland. Alice thinks, explains and invents, during her deep fall to the center of the earth she meets interesting personalities who reveal all the laws of nature to her. Next to Alice there is Leonardo Da Vinci, one of the greatest inventors and versatile historical figure. The science that leads to discovery and the experimentation that leads to art are two fields that melt with each other.
The artist Paolo Ferluga will exhibit at the Medusa Gallery in Koper in an exhibition entitled Earth and man in collaboration with the OGS (National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics). The scientific photographs will be accompanied by paintings created specifically for this exhibition. Paolo Ferluga creates fantastic places based on Leonardo's ideal vision of the city where humankind lives.
