This year’s sculpture symposium FORMA VIVA PORTOROŽ 1961-2021 is coming to the end. You are kindly invited to attend the Press Conference and the closing event.

The Press Conference will be held at VINAKOPER in Koper on October 11th at 12pm. Besides the media, there will be the Forma Viva staff, the mayors and deputy mayors of the coastal municipalities, the artists, the sponsors and co-organisers of the event. We also invited Mrs. Marjanca Lenassi and Mrs. Nedo Milkovič, wives of the founders of Forma viva.

The Finissage will be held in Forma viva park at Seča on October 16th at 6 pm. The presentation of the sculptures and speakers will be followed by an installation of the French artist Vincent Ceraudo.

The projection will start at 7 pm (for further information check the document below).

The celebratory symposium is presided by Mara Ambrožič Verderber, director of Piran Coastal Galleries (PCG) and dr. Majda Božeglav Japelj, curator of the event. The traditional carving of the stone sculptures executed by four renowned artists (Mario Lopes from Portugal, Alberto Scodro from Italy, Max M. Seibald from Austria, and Jure Markota from Slovenia), will end with a special program dedicated to art and nature. For the first time in the history of the event, the sculptures will be placed at the public spaces of the four coastal municipalities that actively took part in the organization of this event, which has been renowned and recognizable in the international art scene for six decades: Piran, Izola, Koper, and Ankaran. On Monday, the 11th of October 2021, FORMA VIVA PORTOROŽ 2021 will end with a press conference, held at 12:00 at Vinakoper, in Koper. The results of the symposium will be presented by Mara Ambrožič Verderber, director of PCG and dr. Majda Božeglav Japelj, curator of PCG.

The conference will also be characterized by the presentation of the finissage, which will be curated by Parisian artist Vincent Ceraudo, and by a tasting of the limited-edition wine marked with the commemorative label dedicated to Forma Viva.

The press conference will take place in the presence of the artists (Max Seibald, Alberto Scodro and Jure Markota), the local collaborators, and the supporters of the event. On Saturday, the 16th of October 2021, at 17:00, the sculpture park of Forma Viva in Seča will host the FINISSAGE, the solemn conclusion of the event, which will consist of the presentation of the new artworks and the inauguration of a special project – the site-specific art installation of Vincent Ceraudo.

Among the events accompanying the symposium, the workshops organized by Ana Papež, curator and educator of PCG, really stand out. In the gorgeous location formed by the natural environment of the sculpture park, children can play, take part in the dance workshops organized by the dancer and choreographer Tamara Perić, and participate in the siporex workshops organized by the sculptor Miha Pečar. The participants have the opportunity of learning about the history of Forma Viva while wandering through the park and getting to know the artworks realized during the past years. The children are also introduced to the figure of the sculptor, his tools of work, and the rules they have to follow in order to work in a safe environment. Click here for further information…

In addition to that, there will be a workshop focused on the creation of objects starting from waste paper and other scrap materials, organized in collaboration with Fulvia Grbac, artist and educator, and will also take place in the open-air at the Forma Viva sculpture park of Portorož.
