From Monday, October 3, 2022 the exhibition “When we build outstandingly, we build with a public tender”: Exhibition of winning solutions at architectural competitions held by the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) in 2009–2021" is on display at the Square of the Overseas Brigades in Portorose. The grand opening will take place on the Municipality of Piran holiday on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 4 p.m. onwards.
The exhibit showcases 92 winning solutions from open competitions organised in Slovenia from 2009 to the present day. Many projects have already been completed during this time and are presented in their final, implemented form. An important part of the exhibition is the statistical data on public investments, for which an open competition was held in the initial phase. Data on the duration of projects, their costs and performance are presented, as well as clients’ experiences with open competitions. The exhibition is organised by the Slovenian Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning (ZAPS) and is intended to analyse the success of competition procedures, their promotion and the promotion of contracting authorities who most often utilise open competitions. The exhibition will be held until October 30,2022.
On the 20th anniversary of its competition activities, the Slovenian Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning (ZAPS) is organising the second overview exhibit of competition practices. The main part of the exhibit is dedicated to the overview of the winning proposals the open competitions organised in the second decade of ZAPS competition activities. Since many competitions have been successfully completed, the projects are presented in different stages, clearly showing the development from the basic idea to the final objective, the execution of the competition. The exhibit showcases solutions that were recognised as the best by evaluation committees made up of representatives of contracting authorities and relevant professions.
