PEDAGOGICAL WORKSHOPS
As part of the ArtLab Medusa project, which is coordinated and organized by the curator and educator Ana Papež in collaboration with various artists, interesting pedagogical workshops are held in the Herman Pečarič Gallery. With pedagogical creative workshops in the Herman Pečarič Gallery, children learn about various painting techniques, paper recycling, making collages and drawing postcards through art exhibitions. The goal is to stimulate imagination, raise awareness of the importance of recycling, and develop creativity and an aesthetic sense. Pedagogical workshops are led by experienced artists and professional staff, such as Vasko Vidmar, Veruš Villangó, Francesco Zardini, Ištvan Huzjan and Gani Llalloshi. The first event of the ArtLab project was the opening of an exhibition by local artist Vasko Vidmar entitled You are the forest. In the workshops with Vasko Vidmar, children create and learn about abstract motifs, the processes of making recycled paper, create fun portraits using the collage technique, make postcards using the water-based paint and salt technique, and learn about a short history of comic book drawing and make up a comic book story. With Francesco Zardini from Trieste, children observe works of art precisely and learn to connect visible information without prior description or learning. They create beautiful, multifaceted products. Under the guidance of Veruš Villangó, children improve their knowledge by creating imaginative illustrations and create their own imaginary illustrations and learn to make GIF animations. In cooperation with Ištvan Huzjan and Sečovlje Elementary School, we are holding a full-day workshop Sculpt together on the theme Forma viva Portorož for talented children from the schools of Piran Municipality. Under the guidance of Gani Llalloshi, in the month of August, the children meet again with the collage technique and create a landscape.
ANDRAGOGIC WORKSHOPS
When preparing andragogic workshops, we start from the needs of the local environment. We live in a city that is decorated with sculptures by established artists, but many times the locals themselves do not know who the authors of individual sculptures are. Andrago gic workshops are held in collaboration with Natalija Planinc, and statues and sculptors are presented to the public by the curators of the Coastal Galleries of Piran, dr. Majda Božeglav Japelj, Nives Marvin and Ana Papež.During the four meetings, the participants were able to learn more about the sculptures Dolphin by Janez Lenassi and Jakob Savinšek, Pegasus by Jakov Brdar, Batič's Prometheus and Fishermen, as well as the sculptures created as part of the sculpture symposium Forma viva Portorož, which adorn the city of Piran by sculptors Lenassi and Nagase, Atanasoski and Lenassi, Marconi and Pompili.
