Dear visitors,
we would like to inform you that the Piran Coastal Galleries that we have promplty informed the authorities about the conditions of the facade of the Gallery Herman Pečarič in Lenin street in Piran. We have reported about the facade’s rapidly deterioration and that the restoration of our cultural heritage is an urgency. The interior of the premises are not affected by any deterioration, the damage is localized on the facade and suddenly worsened with the last showers of September. We then immediately notified the responsible bodies in the Municipality of Piran and requested an extraordinary intervention. Together with the Civil Protection we took care to install cones to prevent the passage to passers-by.
The Municipality of Piran has informed us that the matter is being resolved urgently and that the expertise of a professional restorer has already been drawn up. For safety reasons, pending further indications from the appropriate bodies scheduled for next week, the collective of the Coastal Galleries of Piran has estimated that the gallery and the exhibitions will remain currently closed.
Potentially dangerous elements have also been removed this week. Agreements are also underway with the restoration service for further interventions. The Herman Pečarič Gallery will reopen to the public on Tuesday October 25, 2022.
