– EX-TEMPORE PIRAN 2023: 58th International painting ex-tempore

Curated by: Nives Marvin
Herman Pečarič Gallery Piran, 25 August – 30 October 2023
Opening: Friday, August 25, 2023, at 8 p.m.
The week of Ex-tempore Piran 2023 will begin with the opening of an exhibition of artworks by Blažka Križan, who was selected by the international expert jury as the winner of the Youth Author Prize at Ex-tempore Piran 2022. Ever since her studies at the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (graduated in 2012 and completed her master’s degree in 2017), her creative starting point is the principle of repetition, which she combines with the paper carving technique. By stringing cuts in the paper and with light passing through them, she explores the optical effects of light and shadow of relief surfaces and creates the impression of a moving image. At her first solo exhibition in the Piran Coastal Galleries, carvings from the past three years will be on display. More informations at the link …
