Ex-tempore Piran, the most open art event of the Piran Coastal Galleries, recognised for its competitive character, was successfully concluded. 238 participants applied to the event and 177 works of art were submitted. The international expert jury (Dragana Sapanjoš, Croatia; Matteo Bertelé, Italy; Gani Llalloshi, Slovenia) selected 67 works of art for the exhibition in the Piran Civic Gallery (awarded works) and in the Wooden Hall Monfort in Portorož and awarded the main of the 18 purchase prizes.
GRAND PRIX

Explanation:
The work is a pictorial transposition of an ephemeral human presence, created with considerable technical expertise. The austere composition, marked by the seriality of the subject, reveals itself to the eye in a disconcerting coldness, which leaves free space for the interpretation of the place itself, an aseptic, almost monochromatic environment. The ambiguity of the subject is reflected in the title, in Polish, which reveals the homage to Jan Matejko, a 19th-century painter originally from Krakow.
