EX-TEMPORE PIRAN 2024 IS APPROACHING
Ex-tempore Piran is an art manifestation of the Piran Coastal Galleries, which is the most open to the public. It is recognizable by its competitive character and long tradition. Along with a rich accompanying program for all generations, the exhibition Ex-tempore Piran 2024 will be held at two locations this year, in the Piran Civic Gallery and the Wooden Hall of the Monfort complex in Portorose.
An international expert jury consisting of Dragana Sapanjoš, visual artist (HR), Matteo Bertelé, Associate Professor in Contemporary Art History and deputy director of the Center of Studies of Russian Art at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice (IT) and Gani Llalloshi, Master of Visual Arts, painter and curator (SI), will make a selection of paintings for the exhibition at both galleries and will award a series of appealing prizes, among which the Young Author Prize and the Grand Prix stand out.
The opening of the exhibition of Tara Rubinić, last year’s recipient of the Young Author Prize, will take place on Friday, August 30, at 7:30 p.m., at the Herman Pečarič Gallery, thereby marking the beginning of the program of this year’s edition of Ex-tempore Piran.
Ex-tempore Piran 2024 will be concluded with the award ceremony on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., on Tartini Square (next to the Piran Civic Gallery).

EXHIBITIONS ON VIEW AT OUR GALLERIES
Until and including August 18, three exhibitions are on view at our exhibition spaces in Piran: the thematic group exhibition For Your Pleasure at the Piran Civic Gallery, a solo exhibition by Vasko Vidmar at the Herman Pečarič Gallery and an exhibition by the American artist Brad Downey at the Monfort Gallery in Portorose. The exhibition dedicated to Marko Brecelj at the Loža Gallery in Koper will be open to the public until September 15.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN
In the month of August, two free workshops will be held at the Herman Pečarič Gallery: on Friday, August 2 (making animal motifs in the collage technique) with Vasko Vidmar, and on Saturday, August 17 (creating GIF animations) with the artist Veruš Villangó. Location and schedule: Herman Pečarič Gallery, Leninova Street 2, Piran, 10:00-11:30.
