On Tartini Square in Piran, on Sunday, 28.9.2025, at 18:30, a contemporary dance performance In Excellent Order will take place. Its realization is the result of cooperation between the Association of Artists DUM, Cukrarna (MGML) and the Piran Coastal Galleries. The dance performance In Excellent Order draws a long and clear dance (and musical) line – a sequence – into the very architecture of the urban space of Piran. It is built by 12 outstanding contemporary creators in the field of contemporary dance, who constantly, one with another, one next to another and one after another, interweave into a common uninterrupted line. Just as the circle is the oldest dance form, so the line as a geometric concept in the history of art has marked many periods, if not all art periods, and through groundbreaking modernism it established a bridge to contemporary artistic movements.
The work of the Association of Artists DUM tests the paradox of persistence in a clear, common, single-space dimension, but in a free way, which connects the work with the dilemmas of the present. It is conceived together with the geometry and architecture of the city, into which the line clearly cuts through a complex movement-based inner language with a multitude of meanings or non-meanings, which it produces and into which the living, thinking, and dancing is always fatefully caught.
The dance performance In Excellent Order is based on the original choreography by Mateja Bučar, with musical accompaniment by Drago Ivanuša. The dance performers will be: Nataša Živkovič, Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, Tini Rozman, Beno Novak, Katja Legin, Tina Valentan, Kristina Aleksova, Kristyina Peldova, Nina Pertot, Bojana Robinson, Loup Abramovici and Jana Menger.
