In the last semester, despite the difficult conditions caused by Covid-19, the staff of Piran Coastal Galleries worked hardly to improve the quality of its public service, introducing some necessary changes in order to keep being a benchmark in the national and international art scene.
The website was redesigned, prioritizing visual appeal and accessibility; for the first time in the history of this institution, the website will have an international profile, offering every content in Slovene, Italian and English.
Moreover, there will be a webpage dedicated to an interactive virtual guide of the international sculpture collection Forma Viva. This will also be available in three languages, offering the possibility of appreciating this marvellous artistic tradition both to the local and to the international public. The texts are complemented with videos and pictures taken with the bird\u2019s eye shot with the help of a drone.<\/p>\n

In the last month, the HR department also made some important steps forward, adding new precious elements to the staff; between 20.05.2021 and 01.06.2021 five new employees joined the institution, funded by external sources. Among them, there are three young professionals coming from an academic background, now part of the new International Internship Program (an assistant curator, a digital art director, an art critic) and two expert professionals with long working experience (an art historian and anthropologist, and an IT specialist).<\/p>\n

Clemente Miccich\u00e8<\/strong> (Milano, 1994) studied philosophy in Milan, specialising in the fields of Visual culture and Aesthetics, and took part in many cultural associations.<\/em>
He did several stages in national and international institutions, such as the Triennale di Milano and the Gerhard Richter Archiv in Dresden, and cocurated various exhibitions in Milan, Matera, and Venice.<\/em><\/p>\n

He currently writes about contemporary art and pop culture for different online magazines.<\/em><\/p>\n

Giorgia Simioni<\/strong>, born in Bassano del Grappa in 1996, graduated in Design – Architecture of Interior spaces, at IED (European Institute of Design) in Venice, deciding then to conjugate her studies to her passion for Art, especially through an advanced course in Curatorial Practices and Contemporary Arts at the School for Curatorial Studies of Venice.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Currently she works as an art director and graphic designer. In the last year she worked majorly as a designer and cocurator of some temporary exhibitions.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Samantha Chia<\/strong> was born in La Spezia in 1993. In 2016 she graduated in Art History at the University of Pisa and in 2019 she specialized in Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.<\/em>
Among the most recent professional experiences there are those at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and at the Historical Archives of Contemporary Arts (ASAC) of the Venice Biennale.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Recently she curated her first exhibition in Venice as a co-curator.<\/em><\/p>\n
