and therefore it will not be possible to see the exhibition of Safet Zec during these days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From the end of March, the paintings of the\u00a0<\/span>Exodus<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Embraces<\/em>\u00a0series of the master Safet Zec will be on show in eight different locations distributed among Piran and Portoro\u017e. The exhibition is the most relevant solo show ever held in Slovenia by the artist. Both series were created during the last twenty years, inspired by some of the most dramatic moments of contemporaneity, like the Srebenica genocide, the tragedy of Bo\u0161ko and Admira (also known as Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo), and the problem of human migration, which also afflict children and innocents.<\/span><\/p>\n

An exhibition catalogue accompanies the show, with texts by Giandomenico Romanelli and Nives Marvin, curated by Hana Zec.<\/p>\n

Safet Zec<\/strong> (1943, Rogatica, Bosnia and Herzegovina) studied painting at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts but started living abroad since the beginning of the 80s. In 1992, because of the surge of the Bosnian War, he initially fled to Udine, and later moved to Venice. Throughout his career, he realized paintings and graphic works that were displayed in more than 100 exhibitions in Europe and in the United States, and was awarded with various prizes (among which, in 2007, was admitted as\u00a0Chevalier\u00a0<\/em>of the\u00a0Ordre des Arts et des Lettres<\/em>)<\/p>\n
