Since 2017, the gallery has focused primarily on artists working in the fields of geometric abstraction and concrete art.

In 2024, the gallery team conceived and organized an international traveling exhibition featuring represented women artists who, in addition to sharing the same gender, are united by their experimentation across different media within the aforementioned artistic practice. The main goal is to create a network among European galleries that recognize both the quality of the participating artists’ work and the importance of female creativity within the broader system of contemporary visual art.

The project, which is ongoing and continuously evolving, has already attracted prestigious partners from other European countries, creating new opportunities for broader presentation, increased visibility, and critical recognition of women’s artistic achievements in an international context. The exhibition was inaugurated in Budapest (37 Gallery) in 2024 and subsequently traveled to Vienna (Sehsaal Galerie), Cologne and Coaraze, France (Floss und Schultz Galerie), and most recently to Sofia (Nonsofiagalleryandarchive – Centre of Geometric Art). In each host country, the exhibition has been enriched by the inclusion of new artists, typically from the national artistic scene.

The exhibition, opening at Meduza Gallery on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 7:00 PM, is curated by Andrea Bódis, Barna Benedek, Júlia N. Mészáros, and Milán Bódis. It will remain on view until September 20, 2026.

More information at the link…

Summer Museum Night – Francesco Bertocco Exhibition at Monfort Gallery in Portorož, the Main Event of the Coastal Galleries of Piran

On the occasion of Summer Museum Night, Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM, Monfort Gallery in Portorož will host the opening of the photographic exhibition and video installation by Italian artist Francesco Bertocco, entitled Breaking the Circuit of Control.

In his artistic practice, Bertocco frequently explores the history of medicine and therapeutic practices, as well as the ways in which they are shaped by broader social contexts. This exhibition focuses on Franco Basaglia, the influential Italian psychiatrist and reformer whose radical ideas challenged institutional psychiatry. Basaglia’s critique of coercive treatment methods and the concept of psychiatric “dangerousness” gave rise to a global anti-institutional movement that reshaped mental health care.

The project centers on Basaglia’s journey to Brazil in 1979 and the remarkable impact of that visit on the Brazilian psychiatric landscape. Bertocco and curator Gabi Scardi, in collaboration with Mariagrazia Muscatello, conducted extensive field research in Brazil, resulting in the current exhibition.

Breaking the Circuit of Control is supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture through the Italian Council program (13th edition, 2024), dedicated to promoting Italian contemporary art worldwide.

More information at the link…

On the occasion of Summer Museum Night, on Saturday, June 20, all exhibition venues of the Coastal Galleries of Piran will remain open until 10:00 PM. These outstanding works are far more than visual objects, as they incorporate sound, vibration, and the visitor’s physical experience. The exhibition seeks to shift viewers from a passive to an active role, presenting art as something to be experienced with the whole body and all the senses.

His sculptures and environmental installations raise questions about how we perceive art in an era shaped by the forces of history—wars, violence, neoliberal capitalism, and natural disasters. Moving beyond the boundaries of aesthetics, the artist encourages reflection on global power relations, invisible borders, violence, and economic systems as driving forces behind contemporary conflicts.

The exhibition is realized in collaboration with the University of Lyon (UDL): École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA), and the Terra Museum in Kikinda, Serbia.

More information at the link…

June at the Forma Viva Sculpture Park in Portorož

Renovation works are currently underway at the entrance area of the Forma Viva Sculpture Park in Seča, together with various improvements to the surrounding grounds.
