EX-TEMPORE PIRAN 2025 \u2013 60TH INTERNATIONAL PAINTING EX-TEMPORE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ex-tempore Piran is an event that needs no special introduction. It is recognized for its competitive nature and its impressively long tradition: this year it celebrates its jubilee, 60th edition<\/strong>, confirming its great popularity among creators of various generations and a broad audience.<\/p>\n

Ex-tempore Piran 2025<\/strong> will unofficially begin on Friday, 29 August 2025<\/strong>, with the opening of the exhibition by Lev Ambro\u017e Okorn titled Imaginary of Details<\/em>. The student of the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts and Design received the Piran Coastal Galleries award<\/strong> at last year’s Ex-tempore, which enables young artists to present a solo exhibition at the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery in Piran.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, 30 August 2025<\/strong>, the stamping of painting supports will begin at various locations in Slovenia and Croatia. In the week leading up to 6 September 2025<\/strong>, interesting accompanying events for children and adults will take place in Piran, organized by the Piran Coastal Galleries<\/strong> in cooperation with various partners.<\/p>\n

The international professional jury<\/strong>, composed of Stephanie Per\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>, art historian and curator at the Labin Public Art Gallery (Croatia), Renzo Grigolon<\/strong>, cultural worker (Italy), and Jadranka Plut<\/strong>, art critic and curator (Slovenia), will select paintings for the exhibition at the Piran Civic Gallery <\/strong>and Monfort Gallery in Portoro\u017e<\/strong>, and award a number of prizes from the Piran Coastal Galleries<\/strong> and loyal collectors from the local and national sphere.<\/p>\n

Ex-tempore Piran 2025<\/strong> will conclude on Saturday, 6 September 2025<\/strong>, with the award ceremony at 8:30 p.m. on Tartini Square<\/strong>, accompanied by a musical performance by Darja \u0160vajger<\/strong>, and directed by Igor Jelen \u2013 Iggy<\/strong>. The event will be hosted by Iztok Gustin\u010di\u010d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Until 24 August 2025<\/strong>, the Piran<\/strong> Civic Gallery<\/strong> is hosting the first major solo photography exhibition by Primo\u017e Bizjak<\/strong> titled The Grey World is Blue and Green<\/em>, offering an overview of the artist\u2019s various bodies of work created between 2004 and 2020. At the same time, the large spatial installation Intruders, Uninvited into Chaos<\/strong> by Andrej \u0160kufca<\/strong> will also conclude in the Monfort Gallery in Portoro\u017e<\/strong>. In the Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper<\/strong>, the exhibition is on view until 14 September 2025<\/strong>. In Meduza Gallery in Koper<\/strong>, the engaged participatory exhibition<\/strong> by Vesna Bukovec and Ana \u010cigon<\/strong>, titled Work in Progress. Deceptive Working Time<\/em>, is on view until 19 September 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

ARTLAB MEDUZA CREATIVE WORKSHOPS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alongside the solo exhibition of illustrations by Tinka Leskov\u0161ek<\/strong> titled Pure Grace<\/em>, on view until 17 August 2025<\/strong> at the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery<\/strong>, there will be a pedagogical workshop for children<\/strong> on the morning of Saturday, 9 August 2025<\/strong>. On Wednesday, 13 August 2025<\/strong>, in the afternoon, there will also be a workshop for adult participants<\/strong> at the same location.<\/p>\n

SPECIAL EVENTS AT THE HERMAN PE\u010cARI\u010c GALLERY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Internationally established Slovenian guitarist, composer and producer Primo\u017e Suki\u010d<\/strong> returns to Piran with a new series of compositions for electric guitar and electronics titled Endless Possibilities of the String<\/em>. He will present his musical exploration on Wednesday, 13 August 2025<\/strong>, at 8:00 p.m.<\/strong> in the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery<\/strong>. More information at the link …
\nAlready the next day, on 14 August 2025<\/strong>, the Piran gallery will host a one-day event by Lana Angel<\/strong> There is Another Station<\/em>, which was originally presented at Berlin Fashion Week<\/strong>. It is a reinterpretation \u2013 a connection between performance as an immersive experience and choreographed movement recordings<\/strong>, creating an atmosphere and emotional framework for each bag individually.<\/p>\n
