Opening of the <\/b>Primorske slikarke iz zbirk Obalnih galerij Piran<\/i><\/b> (<\/b>Paintresses From the Littoral From the Collections of the Piran Coastal Galleries<\/i><\/b>) exhibition in the Meduza Gallery\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
The <\/span>Miscellanea, zgodbe in likovna dela iz depojev Obalnih galerij Piran <\/span><\/i>(Miscellanea, Stories and Artworks from the Depots of the Piran Coastal Galleries) exhibition, which has been on show in the Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper since December 2024, will be joined by the first exhibition this year with a similar theme and entitled <\/span>Primorske slikarke iz zbirk Obalnih galerij Piran <\/span><\/i>(Paintresses From the Littoral From the Collections of the Piran Coastal Galleries), which will open in the Meduza Gallery in Koper on Friday, 31 January 2025, at 6pm. Seven female artists of different generations from Primorska will be presented: Mira Li\u010den, Majda Skrinar, Fulvia Grbac, Beti Bricelj, Joni Zakonj\u0161ek, Lara Jeranko Marconi, and Ira Niera Maru\u0161i\u010d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The exhibition does not dive into individual artistic expressions and authorial, personal poetics. Its common denominators are gender and status in the collection, but primarily the belonging to the locality of Primorska, from which the artists originate and in which they work. However, they are not only renowned in their home environment but are all well-known, established names who actively co-create the Slovenian artistic space and can also frequently be noticed at reference group exhibitions at home and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pedagogical-andragogical activities and other projects<\/b><\/p>\n The Piran Coastal Galleries participate in the <\/span>V spomin velikim <\/i><\/b>(In the Memory of the Greats) project which was marked by Zavod YouSea, Institute for the Conservation of Marine Biodiversity (in collaboration with artists \u010caj za 2, Dru\u0161tvo keramikov in lon\u010darjev Slovenije, Dru\u0161tvo likovnih pedagogov Primorja, and art designer Du\u0161an Erjavec). The project connects nature protection with art, drawing attention to the importance of the fan mussel (<\/span>Pinna nobilis<\/span><\/i>), and the negative influence of their extinction on the biodiversity and health of the Slovenian sea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Together with the YouSea Institute we are preparing an exhibition of unique interpretations of the fan mussel which will be created from natural materials by artists who joined the project and creators from different artistic societies and with them bring awareness about the importance of understanding and preserving marine ecosystems. Their pieces will first be exhibited at the Monfort Gallery in Portoro\u017e (from 20 January to 16 February 2025), then they will be lowered into the sea and set into the area of the Piran Sea Oasis, where they will become part of the living environment of sea organisms and part of the first underwater gallery in Slovenia.<\/span><\/p>\n Alongside the <\/span>Miscellanea<\/i><\/b>, <\/b>zgodbe in likovna dela iz depojev Obalnih galerij Piran <\/i><\/b>exhibition<\/span>, <\/span><\/i>programmes of educational events and workshops for children and adults<\/span> will start in February <\/span>at the Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper. In addition to guided tours for different target groups, workshops for young people will take place that will be founded on the <\/span>interpretation of exhibited works from different collections of the Piran Coastal Galleries. These include just over twenty artworks supplemented with documentation. This way, young people will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with an aspect of the work of galleries which is usually not at the forefront of interest of the wider public but is still one of the important tasks in the work of museums:\u00a0organisation of artefacts in a museum, a collection. The workshops are intended for organised groups by prior arrangement and will also take place on Saturday mornings<\/span> (the first workshop will take place on <\/span>8 February, <\/b>the second on <\/span>22 February 2025<\/b>).<\/span><\/p>\n Alongside the exhibition of the Primorska artist <\/span>Gani Llalloshi<\/b>\u00a0entitled <\/span>Nostalgija <\/i><\/b>(Nostalgia), which is open in the Piran Town Gallery until 4 May 2025, the first pedagogical workshops intended for organised groups have already taken place. The workshops entitled <\/span>Moj sanjski travnik<\/i><\/b> (My Dreamlike Meadow) will also continue in February.<\/span><\/p>\n To reserve a place in a workshop, please contact the custodian and educator Ana Pape\u017e at <\/span>ana.papez@obalne-galerije.si<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Open in the exhibition rooms of the Piran Coastal Galleries\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n The <\/span>Miscellanea<\/i><\/b>, <\/b>zgodbe in likovna dela iz depojev Obalnih galerij Piran<\/i><\/b> (Miscellanea, Stories and Artworks from the Depots of the Piran Coastal Galleries) exhibition, which is open from December 2024 until 16 May 2025 at the <\/span>Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper<\/b>, is founded on material from the collection fond and based on the available museum documentation reveals the ways in which pieces were acquired. Just over twenty artworks, some on which have never before been exhibited, originate from different collections, hence the illustrative title of the exhibition <\/span>Miscellanea<\/span><\/i>, which in Latin means a mix of heterogenous things unconnected to each other. Thus, the exhibition is a rare opportunity to see some of the fine art heritage kept in depots and is intended to establish an active dialogue with the public and experts. The longer duration of the exhibition can partly replace the lack of a permanent exhibition and enables the execution of accompanying events for various target groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n At the <\/span>Piran Town Gallery,<\/b> the personal exhibition entitled <\/span>Nostalgija<\/i><\/b> presents the renowned Primorska artist <\/span>Gani Llalloshi<\/b>. It is a series of floral compositions on large canvases reaching into the raw edge and virtually \u201cpulsating\u201d in lush flowering.\u00a0In the paintings we can observe a puzzle where we can find motif patterns of Andy Warhol, Klimt\u2019s secessionist vegetation, and folk art from the artist\u2019s childhood memories. All these resound in a rich and intensive colour palette. Llalloshi\u2019s painting declaration invites the viewer into his intimate world, into the circle of his family where in dream-like images the artist, his wife, and his daughter meet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pre\u0161ernovanje with Piran Coastal Galleries 2025<\/b><\/p>\n <\/b>This year, too, the Piran Coastal Galleries are preparing <\/span>Pre\u0161ernovanje<\/i><\/b> z OGP<\/b> and invite pupils of primary schools from all over Slovenia to join. We want to celebrate Pre\u0161eren\u2019s Day 2025 in as great a number as possible. <\/span>Pre\u0161ernovanje<\/span><\/i> for children is organised by the custodian and educator Ana Pape\u017e. This year, the national holiday will be honoured with the opening of the exhibition of children\u2019s self-portraits in the collage technique and entitled <\/span>Kako bi me videl Pre\u0161eren? <\/i><\/b>(How would Pre\u0161eren See Me?), which will be open in the <\/span>Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d<\/b> Gallery in Piran from 8 to 29 February 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At the <\/span>Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper,<\/b> Pre\u0161ernovanje,<\/i><\/b> accompanying the <\/span>Miscellanea<\/span><\/i> exhibition, can be visited by children aged 6 to 9. Workshops will be carried out on <\/span>Saturday<\/b>, <\/span>8 February 2025<\/b>, from <\/span>11.30 until 12.30<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Workshops entitled <\/span>Ustvarjalne poti<\/i><\/b> (Creative Paths) will be led by <\/span>Lavra Bregar<\/b>, teacher and long-time associate of the Piran Coastal Galleries in the field of researching cultural and natural heritage.
