At the initiative of the Piran Coastal Galleries, <\/span>the exhibition Dissident Histories. Insurgent Futurities (Disidentske\u00a0zgodovine. Vstajni\u0161ke prihodnosti)<\/b> will be on view at <\/span>the Gallery of the City of Gdansk in Poland from October 8, 2024 to December 15, 2024. Insurgent Futurities<\/b>. It represents the 40-years of the artistic duo <\/span>Marina Gr\u017eini\u0107<\/b> and <\/span>Aina \u0160mid<\/b>\u2019s creative work. The pioneers of political video began their collaboration in 1982 and have left a deep artistic and political mark in the former Yugoslavia, Slovenia and abroad. <\/span>The exhibition of internationally recognized female artists is upgraded by a new project by authors <\/span>Marina Gr\u017eini\u0107, Tja\u0161a Kancler<\/b> and <\/span>Jovita Pristov\u0161ek<\/b>, who started working together in the new millennium. <\/span><\/p>\n

The project is not only a retrospective reflection, it is a path to the future that foresees the continuation of political discourse and visual storytelling through the popular digital medium of video film. The exhibition is prepared by the curator <\/span>\u0141ukas Guzek<\/b> (Academy of Fine Arts in Gda\u0144sk) in cooperation with the director of the Piran Coastal Galleries <\/span>Mara Ambro\u017ei\u010d Verderber<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition concept, design and layout are contributed by Marina Gr\u017eini\u0107 and Jovita Pristov\u0161ek. The project will be realized with the support of: the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the Municipality of Koper, 4G, the G\u03cbnter Grass Gallery (GGM), the Goethe Institute in Gdansk, the City of Gdansk, the Ministry of Culture of Poland and the Photon Gallery from Ljubljana, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Poland and Academy of Fine Arts in Gda\u0144sk.<\/span><\/p>\n
