EX-TEMPORE PIRAN 2022<\/b>\u00a0has been successfully concluded. It received a very good response from the participants and many Slovene and foreign visitors. This year, 194 artists from different countries participated and competed for prizes at this traditional high-profile competitive event. The prizes were awarded at the closing ceremony. In addition to various redemption rewards and hotel prizes and the Tartini 330 prize, important prizes were also awarded by the Coastal Galleries of Piran.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Among these\u00a0Grand Prix<\/i>\u00a0particularly stands out. This year, it was awarded to the promising high school student\u00a0MATIC MO\u0160KON<\/b>\u00a0from Ljubljana. The special prize Cesare Dell’Acqua (with the support of the Municipality of Koper) went to\u00a0MLADEN STROPNIK<\/b>, while the Young Author Prize went to\u00a0BLA\u017dKA KRI\u017dAN<\/b>. The closing ceremony turned into a pleasant evening accompanied by the sounds of the band XJAZZ and its singer Aleksandra \u010cermelj. Before announcing new events, we are happy to inform you that the exhibition\u00a0(EVERYTHING IS) NOT AS IT SEEMS<\/b>, an international project of\u00a0the Piran Coastal Galleries, produced by the Center for Contemporary Art – NITJA from Lillestr\u00f8m (Norway)<\/b>, was a great success and had an astounding resonance in the media. The exhibition was conceived, developed and designed by\u00a0Mara Ambro\u017ei\u010d Verderber, director of the Piran Coastal Galleries<\/b>, who was constantly present during the installation, at the opening and other media and promotional events for professional and wider public audiences. The participation was marked by numerous well-known names from cultural and diplomatic circles in Norway. Some participating artists were also present, namely\u00a0Meta Grgurevic\u030c (Slovenia), Anawana Haloba (Zambia\/Norway), Corinne Mazzoli (Italy), Ane Mette Hol (Norway), Hanna Filomen Mj\u00e5vatn (Norway) & Kira Senkpiel (Germany) in Andrej S\u030ckufca (Slovenia)<\/b>.\u00a0More information on the link\u2026<\/a><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The exhibition will be on display at NITJA- Center for Contemporary Art,\u00a0until Tuesday, September 25, 2022<\/b>. Since the project was conceived as a traveling exhibition that will also host local artists at each new location, we are already announcing it to take place in the Piran City Gallery in 2023.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are starting the autumn cycle of exhibitions with the solo exhibition\u00a0THE FOOL<\/b>, by the increasingly established coastal artist\u00a0LARA JERANKO MARCONI<\/b>; we will open the exhibition\u00a0on September 16, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Lo\u017ea Gallery in Koper<\/b>. Lara Jeranko Marconi (Koper, 1984), a painter and illustrator from Koper, belongs to the generation of young Slovenian authors whose artistic skills were formed in neighboring Italy. During her academic studies in Venice, she already participated in the 51st Venice Biennale as part of the Open Ateliers group exhibition. At a certain stage of her creative development papercutting became her trademark. Her creations within this intriguing art genre will be highlighted this time as well. Lara’s world of plant arabesques and animal figures brings to life the eloquent symbolism of the initials in the miniatures of illuminated manuscripts created in the period from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. It is narratively condensed on monochrome two-dimensional surfaces of varying colors, with occasional transitions into space.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The light and sound installation\u00a0COSMIC RAIN<\/b>, which was installed in the Meduza Gallery in Koper by the artist\u00a0TILEN SEPI\u010c<\/b>, draws in many spectators even in the evening, when its curious light effects can be seen from the street. KLAVDIJA JER\u0160INOVEC<\/b>, winner of the last year’s Ex-tempore Piran 2021 Young Author Prize, is exhibiting at the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery in Piran.
