In the Piran Coastal Galleries, the most beautiful month of spring is characterised by socialising, various educational meetings, guided tours of the exhibitions, and other promotional events; therefore, a plethora of interesting events has been carefully prepared for you.<\/p>\n

The promotional event ART OBJECTS: TARTINI 330<\/strong>, announced for April, is taking place on Friday, 13. 5. 2022, at 5 pm<\/strong> in the dvorana vedut in the birth house of the famous composer Giuseppe Tartini in Piran. It will present the process of creating promotional items and visual material that is made in collaboration of the Piran Coastal Galleries<\/strong>, the Community of Italians Giuseppe Tartini<\/strong>, and an interdisciplinary group of artists, fashion designers, and other creative inventors. The presentation will be followed by an informal gathering accompanied by a tasting of wines by the Vinakoper<\/strong> winery. More at\u2026<\/a><\/p>\n

In May, we are pleased to host an interesting workshop, entitled OPEN CALL: ON TUTORIALS, STEREOTYPES AND BODY VISIONS<\/strong>, at which the artist Corinne Mazzoli<\/strong> will study and explore online identity, self-representation, and gender studies. The project was supported by the Italian Council (2021)<\/strong>, the Directorate General for Contemporary Art<\/strong>, and Ministry of Culture of Italy<\/strong>; it is organised in cooperation with the Piran Coastal Galleries, which welcomes such collaboration with great enthusiasm. The workshop will be held at the premises of the studies programme UPPF Vizualne umetnosti in oblikovanja<\/strong>, on Tuesday, 17. 5.<\/strong>, and Wednesday, 18. 5.<\/strong>, on Tuesday, 24. 5.<\/strong>, and Wednesday, 25. 5. 2022,<\/strong> from 9 to 12 am<\/strong>. The workshop outcomes will be presented on Friday, 27. 5.<\/strong>, and Saturday, 28. 5. 2022<\/strong>, in the Piran City Gallery. From Monday, 30.5.2022,<\/strong> onwards you can visit the PANORAMA<\/strong> exhibition in the Piran City Gallery. It is a selection from the art fund of the Piran Coastal Galleries and was assembled in the dialogue between Mara Ambro\u017ei\u010d Verderber<\/strong>, the gallery\u2019s director, and Samantha Chia<\/strong>, a curator-trainee, who will hold a tour of the exhibition in Italian on Wednesday, 11. 5. 2022, at 6 pm<\/strong>. The guided tour is an opportunity to get to know the intriguing process of forming individual collections, different ways of acquiring works of art, and interesting topics connected to this as well as information unknown to wider public. In April, we held openings of two well-visited exhibitions: in the Meduza Gallery in Koper<\/strong>, Aleksander Veli\u0161\u010dek<\/strong> presents his PAINTINGS 2020\u20132022<\/strong> exhibition, which will last until Friday, 24.6.2022<\/strong>; in the Monfort Gallery in Portoro\u017e<\/strong>, the recently opened installation exhibition of Daniela Danica Tepe\u0161<\/strong> entitled NA DRUGI STRANI \/ ON THE OTHER SIDE<\/strong> will last until Wednesday, 1. 6. 2022<\/strong>. This exhibition is the result of collaboration between the Piran Coastal Galleries and the Academy of Visual Arts – AVA from Ljubljana. Accompanying the exhibition, a special poster\/leaflet was printed including a critical article of Jovita Pristov\u0161ek<\/strong>, which was published by the Institute ERGO SUM<\/strong>. On Wednesday, 18. 5. 2022, at 6 pm<\/strong>, a guided tour will be organised through the exhibition and will include the presence of the artist Daniela Danica Tepe\u0161<\/strong> and the exhibition\u2019s curator Matic Bukovec<\/strong>. The exhibition of Emil Memon entitled SAINTLY BODY <\/strong>in the Lo\u017ea Gallery<\/strong> also records exceptional number of visitors. Hence, before its closing on 30. 5.<\/strong> 2022, a presentation and round table discussion with the author, the only Slovenian representative of the original New York Pop Art scene, will be organised on Thursday, 19.5.2022, at 6 pm<\/strong>. The event will be curated by the exhibition\u2019s curator, the art historian Barbara Bor\u010di\u0107<\/strong>, who will also present the art-historical framework in which Memon was formed and in which he worked. Together with the artist, they will shed light on his \u201cItalian lead years\u201d in Florence at the end of the 1970s, \u201cthe alternative culture\u201d in Ljubljana at the beginning of the 1980s, and the life in the New York \u201curban dystopia\u201d from the early 1980s onwards, which has been the most spectacular scene of art until the present day. In this environment, Emil Memon<\/strong> was always and everywhere on the margin; his life was marked by counter-culture, subculture, political art, graffiti, and the presence at the metropolis\u2019 club scene. We at the Piran Coastal Galleries experience great joy when encouraging the creativity of young people. A long-running successful collaboration with the VRTEC MORNAR\u010cEK PIRAN<\/strong> kindergarten will be celebrated with the closing of the UNESCO\u2019s OB MORJU SEM TER TJA<\/strong> project on Tuesday, 31. 5<\/strong>. 2022. The project was carried out in the kindergarten in this school year, when they discovered and explored natural sights along hiking paths and simultaneously developed a healthy lifestyle. Children actively participated in preservation of nature and thus developed their critical opinion and positive attitude towards the environment. Parents and the local community will be presented pieces created within the project in the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery<\/strong>. The exhibition will open with a short programme on Tuesday, 31. 5. 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In May, other pedagogical and andragogical workshops will be organised and so you are kindly invited to keep up with our programme at our website, dedicated to our educational activities. They include the second edition of a very popular GLUE IT, WRAP IT, SPRAY IT! Workshop<\/strong>, which will this time be held within the DAN V PARKU<\/strong> opening programme, organised by the Municipality of Piran in the new amphitheatre of Park sonce on Saturday, 21. 5. 2022<\/strong>.
