The last month of the year is traditionally the most joyful and festive. It also celebrates culture, especially on the 3rd of December, when the anniversary of France Pre\u0161eren's birth occurs, which becomes THIS HAPPY DAY OF CULTURE<\/strong>. The Coastal Galleries Piran join the festive atmosphere this year as well with free visits to exhibitions and the opening of new ones.<\/p>\n

On THIS HAPPY DAY OF CULTURE<\/strong>, the Medusa Gallery in Koper will be opening an exhibition by the famous Koper designer VOJKO TOMINC<\/strong><\/a>, who has exhibited his works in the field of graphic design at the Medusa and Loggia Galleries on several occasions in the past. Alongside graphic design, Tominc also works in the field of painting, which is constantly intertwined with graphic design, so much that in recent years it has almost supplanted it. Thus, after a break of several years, the artist this time returns with the exhibition BOXSIS<\/strong>, which presents a selection of paintings from the last three cycles Black, White & Blue, Cans and Pogled skozi okno (View through the window), created between 2015 and 2020. The exhibition will be open from 3 December 2021 to 28 January 2022.<\/p>\n

One week later, on Friday 10 December 2021, we will open a new exhibition entitled MIHA MALE\u0160: THE PIRAN YEARS 1955-1980<\/strong><\/a> at the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery in Piran. Miha Male\u0161 (1903-1987) is inscribed in the annals of contemporary Slovenian art as an excellent graphic artist. He also created a lot in Piran, where he lived during the summer months from 1955 to 1980. The coloured monotypes, engravings and photographs he created in Piran will be presented for the first time in the Piran gallery. The works for the exhibition come from the collection of his daughter, Mrs. Travica Male\u0161 Gre\u0161ak, and from the Miha Male\u0161 Gallery Kamnik and will be presented by the curator Breda Ilich Klan\u010dnik, a researcher and connoisseur of Male\u0161's entire oeuvre, who also contributed the text in the bilingual brochure.The exhibition will be open until 13 February 2022.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the Coastal Galleries have prepared several exhibitions of artists from the Littoral. The exhibition year will end with an exhibition of the famous Littoral painter JONI ZAKONJ\u0160EK<\/strong>. Although the artist has lived in Bela krajina for a long time, Piran remains her home town. With the exhibition entitled IZ KNJIGE SPOKOJNOSTI<\/strong> (From the Book of Tranquility), which will be opened on 17 December 2021 at the Piran Municipal Gallery, she returns to her home town. His works from the last three years will be exhibited, in large and small formats, in various techniques from oil on canvas to drawing and watercolour. The motifs are very recognisable: trees, meadows, the surface of the sea and other scenes from nature, which have always been an inspiration for the artist. A trilingual catalogue on the painter and her works will also be published. Together with the text by poet, philosopher and art historian Miklav\u017e Komelj and exhibition curator Ana Pape\u017e, the works on display will also be reproduced. The exhibition will be open until 13 February 2022.<\/p>\n

In addition to the newly announced exhibitions, two more architecture exhibitions are planned for December, which we have prepared for the 38th PIRANESE DAYS OF ARCHITECTURE<\/strong><\/a>. Until 5 December, the Herman Pe\u010dari\u010d Gallery will host the exhibition SLOVENIAN ARCHITECTURE AND THE TERRITORY<\/strong> 2021, organised in cooperation with ZAPS<\/strong> (Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning of Slovenia). The central PIRANESE EXHIBITION 2021<\/strong>, on the other hand, will be held in Monfort Portoro\u017e until 12 December 2021.<\/p>\n

We kindly invite you to the exhibition by NATA\u0160A SEGULIN<\/strong><\/a> entitled LUMEN<\/strong>, which can be visited at the Galleria Loggia in Koper until 9 January 2022.<\/p>\n
