INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY 2022 IN THE PIRAN COASTAL GALLERIES

International Museum Day, May 18th, is a holiday of museums celebrated by numerous Slovenian museums and galleries. Various events that will bring attention to and promote the power and values of the Slovenian museums are planned under the wing of ICOM Slovenia. “Museums with their collections and programmes connect the society and build a community. By supporting democratic values and ensuring opportunities for lifelong learning they contribute to the formation of an informed and engaged civil society,” read just a few words of a joint action. The Piran Coastal Galleries join the holiday festivities with guided tours of our exhibitions on May 18 and 19, 2022.

Installation exhibit by Daniela Danica Tepeš entitled NA DRUGI STRANI / ON THE OTHER SIDE, which was created in cooperation between the Piran Coastal Galleries and the AVA Academy of Visual Arts from Ljubljana, is hosted by the Monfort Gallery in Portorož. The exhibition by Emil Memon entitled SAINTLY BODY in the Loža Gallery in Koper also records incredible visit. Before it closes on 30 May 2022, the last event accompanying the exhibition will take place on Thursday, 19 May 2022, at 6 pmA guided tour and a talk with the author will be carried out by the exhibit’s curator, an art historian Barbara Borčić, a connoisseur of Memon’s creative opus, who will also present the art-historical framework in which Memon was formed and in which he worked. More at…
